TEAM Wellness at Work

As a member in good standing, you may have free access to confidential referrals, counseling and advice on a range of issues when you feel you’re in over your head. The Regional Council’s member assistance plan offers counseling for medical, behavioral health and substance abuse.

TEAM has been providing quality employee assistance program services for members of the building trades for over 30 years. TEAM's unique approach assists members (and their dependents) in having direct access to an experienced team of clinicians who understand the unique challenges of working men and women in their day-to-day lives.

When you call TEAM, a professional counselor will work with you to assess your unique situation and recommend the best path forward.

Although TEAM offers short-term counseling services, it may determine your needs would be best met through alternative services or providers. In this event, TEAM staff will work with a broad network of quality providers and affiliates to align you with the very best support in your area. TEAM will follow up with you to ensure you are getting the services you need and the outcome desired.

Patient Advocacy: Patient Advocacy services help Participants with just about any healthcare need. This “medical concierge” service is a spectrum of options to be your guide, primary contact, and do-it-all advocate as you address a medical condition or simply keep yourself healthy. Here’s some examples of the services we’re providing: 

• Helping you understand your current medical conditions
• Advise on getting you the best care for your existing medical conditions
• Coordination of care for new medical diagnoses
• Coordination of care for orthopedic conditions pre and post-surgical
• Nutrition planning and weight management
• Assistance in the second opinion process
• Help in simplifying the referral process
   

North Central States’ Employee Assistance Program through TEAM is specifically available to those members who are served by the Carpenters and Joiners Welfare Fund, which services members in the Twin Cities, southern Minnesota, Iowa and Nebraska who are covered by the Wilson-McShane medical fund. The plan is overseen by a third-party administrator.
