Build MI Summer Camp

Our summer camp empowers young people through the art and craft of carpentry by blending hands-on learning with mentorship and real-world exposure to the skilled trades. Participants gain practical experience using tools, understanding materials, and completing projects that build both technical ability and confidence.

Beyond skill development, the camp fosters creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving. Campers learn how to collaborate, communicate effectively, and take pride in building something tangible from start to finish. Through guided instruction from experienced trades professionals, students are introduced to industry standards, safety practices, and the value of craftsmanship.

Most importantly, our camp creates meaningful pathways into the building trades. Participants leave with a clearer understanding of union apprenticeship opportunities, the advantages of earn-while-you-learn career models, and the long-term stability and growth available in the construction industry. By connecting youth to mentors and resources, we aim to spark interest early, expand career awareness, and open doors to future opportunities in union apprenticeships and skilled trades careers.
